2012 Santa’s H
ouse
Thank you to everyone that donated baked goodies, participated in the bake/wrap events at Shannon's house or who volunteered/attended Santa's House!
This event was EXTREMELY successful and it's because of the great member's we have in this group. There were close to 2000 items that made up about 1000 packaged goods to sell. The Santa's House coordinators were amazed by our work and extremely grateful. We got several compliments on how beautiful everything looked and how delicious they were too! They event coordinators wanted to be sure I passed along their thanks and appreciation.
Santa's House had increased attendance and sales this year! We raised close to $500 from the bake sale alone!
Net proceeds from the Santa's House event supports local Boulder charities!
Thank you again and look forward to next year!
Santa’s House has been helping Boulder family charities for 40 years. In the past, net proceeds have gone to the following important Boulder County Service organizations: Imagine, EFAA, Parenting Place, and Joy Care Center. WHAT IS CRAYONS TO CALCULATORS???
http://crayonstocalculators.org/
Crayons to Calculators is a school-supply drive created to ensure that local students head back to school with the tools they need to succeed.
Why we do it: There are more than 13,000 kids in Boulder Valley and St. Vrain Valley school districts who qualify for free and reduced lunch-an indicator of poverty. The cost of basic school supplies ($50-$70 per student), presents a financial burden for many of these kids' families. Crayons to Calculators aims to cut that cost and move one step closer to eliminating the achievement gap. Having the right school supplies is a critical first step to help a student achieve higher literacy levels, improve academic performance, and graduate. It also enables schools to operate more effectively.
Our goal: For the 2011-2012 school year, we hope to provide 8,000 students-pre-school through high school-with new backpacks full of supplies.
Who are we? We're a collaborative partnership between five area nonprofits: Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley, I Have a Dream Foundation, Impact on Education, Sister Carmen Community Center, and Foothills United Way. Our beneficiaries are the Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) and the St. Vrain Valley School District (SVVSD).

Late last month, the Ullman family was met with a blanket of smoke when a fire started in their Rock Creek home at 3929 South Torrey's Peak Drive in Superior.
Weeks later, Mod Moms of Denver North -- an organization founded by mothers for mothers -- has wrapped "a warm blanket" around Cindy Ullman's family, she said Tuesday, Oct. 2, and she's grateful for it.
